KILLERSIMS
|
KILLERSIMS is back! Back at full strength! All pages on line! And delivered with one of the
fastest servers on the net! Yahoooo!
OK, so we get excited some times. More calmly now -- the bandwidth monster all but knocked
KILLERSIMS off line for about three long months; no hosting service in the world could
handle them. Greg was kidding Jerry that he should rename it ServerKillersims!
But Killersims came back on line on June 1, hosted by
SimsHost.
You'll want to subscribe to SimsHost so you can download the goodies. Fortunately,
it won't cost you much to subscribe and you will be helping to keep dozens of great sites
on line.
SimGoddesses fans will especially want to visit the Byline Shop on the
6th Floor. But don't overlook anything else on the site; just shop, download, and be amazed.
Navigation Hint: The numbers on the horizontal bar are elevator buttons that take
you directly to the floor you're looking for.
Download hint: If you have problems with download, try visiting
Killersims via its IP address.
Our original notes follow, preserved intact because we think they're kinda fun.
Adam hasn't reviewed this one yet.
Pasiphae says, "I'm waiting to hear what Adam has to say about Killer Sims. (Well,
really, I'm still shopping in the clothing stores before I check out the hardware
department.)"
Caddy says, "Stretch your browser window really wide before you enter Killer Sims.
The user interface is complex and takes forever to update each page, but it's fun!"
Pasiphae says, "I'm still waiting for Adam! While we're waiting, you might
enjoy a peek behind the scenes at Moon Sims."
Pasiphae taps her foot and says, "OK, I've migrated this whole page to the new data set, Killer Sims just celebrated their second anniversary on February 27, and I'm still waiting!"
Caddy says, "Jerry seems to have the user interface speeded up. Or maybe it's just that I have a faster computer now. Hey, do you want Adam hanging out at Killer Sims or working on getting SimsHost on line?"
Pasiphae says, "I'll wait! I'll wait! But I'm putting up my Livin' Luna badge even without Adam's review, because Killer Sims is awesome! Look at that glass and metal magazine rack on floor 5! Is that Livin' Luna or what? The black coffee tables, too! Metal-framed chairs with not a lot of fabric; they're perfect! All-metal dining tables! Pictures in brushed metal frames on the 4th floor! Killer Sims has Livin' Luna stuff all over the place!"

Kimbarlou Sims
|
You will find something for every room in the house, including the house itself and the people to live in it, at Kimbarlou Sims! The skins are fun and even include some adorable pets (for those who have The Sims Unleashed installed), but the real star of this show are the furniture sets by Chantal and Countryfire.
Kimbarlou Sims opened on August 7, 2002 on SimsHost. We humbly apologize for our tardiness in adding it to the Moon Sims links!
Pasiphae says, "Most of the things at Kimbarlou Sims are beautifully terrestrial wood and fabric, but Chantal's Dynasty Livin Room set and her Ocean Breeze bathroom earn my Livin' Luna emblem! The rubber tree in the stone pot in Countryfire's Aviary living room set could be in my own room here in Luna City! And do you see that flower vase from Chantal's totally incredible (and totally terrestrial) Hamilton Bedroom set? I have one just like it!"
Carla says, "Style and charm throughout! I especially like the feature on some of the furniture sets that links directly to the page with coordinating walls and floors!"
Caddy says, "The webcraft at Kimbarlou Sims rivals the best on the net. The only thing I can find that I wouldn't do is having a navigation interface that requires Javascript to be turned on. I picked up a lot of new ideas just from browsing the site!"
This is one of more than sixty great Sims sites hosted by
SimsHost.
You'll want to subscribe to SimsHost so you can download the goodies.
Fortunately, it won't cost you much to subscribe and in addition to getting
access to dozens of the greatest sites on the net, when you subscribe to
SimsHost you are doing your part to keep all of the great Sims sites
on line!

Kiwi Sims
|
There are only two or three objects available from Kiwi Sims, but they are
notable here because they follow the Livin' Luna theme with sparse use of
cloth and wood, with lots of glass and metal, and they look really nice in the
preview pictures.
Opened in June 2004, hosted on simartist.com.
Free site, but it says that pay-per-item downloads are planned when the bandwidth grows.
Also advertises Park Avenue Designz (see page 7) where the bulk of the artist's work can be found; more
Livin' Luna stuff there, too.
(Caution: Park Avenue Designz is a subscription site that emphasizes very expensive recurring
billing to your PayPal account.)

Lemon Sims
|
In June, Maria added paintings, rugs, and furniture to her impressive collection of
wallpapers and houses. Her work tends toward tastefully selected subdued shades; very
realistic with a hint of flair from the webmaster's native Brazil.
Presents well-designed houses for every lot in your neighborhoods with animated
images that show you the interior architecture of each house. Also offers an impressive
collection of well-crafted wallpapers that are gathering some rave reviews on the boars.
Moved from Geocities to SimsHost
on June 1, 2002 and merged Lemon Sims and Lemon Sims Accessories into
one site. Free of the hosting and bandwidth constraints of Geocities, the site has more
than doubled in size in the past two weeks.
Hosted by
SimsHost.
You'll want to subscribe to SimsHost so you can download the goodies. Fortunately,
it won't cost you much to subscribe and you will be helping to keep dozens of great sites
on line.

Le Sims Mag
|
2001: The site is entirely in french, and appears to be served from
France. So far all we have found is some interesting screen
shots and some broken links.
2004: There seems to be more here now, but we still can't figure
out what the site is about; however now you have the privilege of
paying for a subscription if you want to find out.

Leslie's Sim Art Gallery
|
Lots and lots and lots of art for your sims' walls, very nicely categorized.
Each category pops up a new window. (The astronaut in the picture is
Bruce McCandless,
the first guy to fly the Manned Maneuvering Unit; February 1984. I'm sure you wanted to know that.)
Hosted on freeservers.com; pop-up ads.

Lone Star Sims
|
From deep in the heart of Texas, Lone Star Sims brings you furniture, furnishings,
walls, floors, and skins in the style of the Lone Star State! The site has nearly quadrupled
in size since its opening on June 1, 2002 and continues to grow. They're planning a new
theme presenting the softer side of Texas as well as the addition of modern metropolitan
Texas to the traditional cowboy themes.
Hosts an egroup on Yahoo
where you can keep up with the updates and heap well-deserved praise upon the many people
who contribute to Lone Star Sims.
Hosted by
SimsHost.
You'll want to subscribe to SimsHost so you can download the goodies. Fortunately,
it won't cost you much to subscribe and you will be helping to keep dozens of great sites
on line.
Pasiphae says, "The first word spoken on the moon was Houston, so I'm tempted
to put my Livin' Luna button here just to call your attention to it! But I'll wait
until Lone Star Sims has a nice collection of really Livin' Luna stuff. They've
been so busy with other stuff that they haven't even started on a Space Coast theme yet.
Caddy says, "Woo hoo! Cowboys are great, but I'm campaigning for a theme where I can
sun my buns on Matagorda Island!"
Carla says, "Oh, I do so love bluebonnets. I hope this starts a trend toward
state-themed and nationally-themed Sims sites, so that artists can share their culture
with us as well as their talents."

Loonacy Sims
|
Site closed. Looks like another Homestead casualty.
6 Oct 01: That's loonacy, not lunacy. As in, call of the wild loon. Objects in all categories here, some recolored and some made from photographs. The things from photographs tend to be at the wrong angle or showing too much perspective; but you do want a bamboo stove for your tropical sims, don't you? Several garden sculptures. Object filenames start with "sg".
Warning: Brief background sound when you enter the home page. It's the call of a wild loon, actually.

a host of additional lots for your sims to enjoy. The selection covers a wide
range of themes, from good old simburbia to a nice selection of vacation lots,
and it looks like there are lots of more lots to come!

Lphnts Trunk
|
"Elephant's Trunk," get it? :)
Lpnts Trunk was formerly known as Sims Giftshop. Here we found a great set of camping equipment -- TV trays for tables, a cooler for the refrigerator, camp stove, a basket for the dishwasher, rustic tables, and folding chairs. There's even an outhouse and a pump for taking care of personal business! The notes say you need Hot Date to make the stuff work.
On our visit today we found a special treat for your sims -- ridable horses! Make sure to download the animations to go with them. Do you long for the days when you could sit on Santa's lap? Now your sims can! There is also a rideable reindeer in the Christmas 2003 collection.
Lpnts Trunk has been on line since at least early 2002.

Luckycat's Skins
|
Clothes for men, women, boys, and girls. Companion site to Sim Mayhem. Webmaster says the
site will not be updated, but will remain on line. Hosted on Tripod, so it requires two
steps to download a file.

Lunar Habitats
|
Pasiphae says, "This is it! Lunar Habitats is a special section of Artistic Habitats (page 1), with every item designed with Livin' Luna in mind!
"Grandma built all the furniture using the kinds of materials you will find in your home on Luna -- metal, glass, and stone -- and applied her own sense of artistry to give many of the items a futuristic design. There's even a large collection of stone walls and floors, some painted in bright colors, to augment the theme!
"Small-scale hydroponic gardens supplement the food industry here in the Luna City Cavern, and at Lunar Habitats you will find Grandma's rendition of them."
Hint: Click on the little red dots next to an item to download it.

L'univers des sims
|
L'univers des sims has a very nice collection of skins and innovatively recolored objects.
Also has tutorial sections that will be very helpful to French-speaking Sims fans.
Presented in French. Hosted by Lycos in France; pops up advertising windows with each page.
Loads slowly in the U.S. because of the transmission lag across the pond, but it's worth the wait!
Some scripts worked fine our Windows box but we had some difficulty getting them to work in MacOS.

MacQueen's Sim Site
|
Site is closed permanently. It says here Steven McQueen has been contributing to
Elizabeth's Department Store
instead. (See links page 3 for our notes about that site.)
A few women's skins remain on the site. (Nice work, too.) Based on the update notes, it looks
like this site lasted five days. Hosted on geocities.

|
MacSimTosh
|
Updated in October with an expanded selection of skins renamed to be compatible with the Macintosh
platform, with added swimsuits and improved texture maps for some of the skins. The skins available
are primarily cartoon and comic book characters and other celebrities.
Disclaimer: The opinions expressed by the tour guides do not necessarily reflect the
official policy of the management.
Caddy says, "It's a nice gesture, but a very bad idea. Skinners ought to have the
maturity and self-discipline to make their stuff cross-platform compatible in the first
place; and they should distribute these skins from their own sites."
Pasiphae says, "It wouldn't hurt if he learned to spell 'conversion'."
Carla says, "Now be nice! Not everybody has the talent you do for
fixing mesh files,
Caddy, so I think Noel Green is doing a terrific thing with this web site. Think of all the people who
would be stuck creating those unintellgible files with Namer if it weren't for Noel!"
Caddy says, "Touche, Carla! I concede the point. Keep at it, Noel! Just a few
hundred thousand skins to go!"
Pasiphae says, "I'm sorry, too, Noel. As Thomas Jefferson said, 'It's a small mind that can
think of only one way to spell a word.'"
Caddy says, "Ha! Official policy, my beautiful pink patootie!"

Mail Order Sims
|
Very large collection of coordinated furniture sets with rugs, paintings, walls and floors. Kay's Kollection
of women's fashions offers the same outfits for all body types. Designs by Teri has some gift baskets and
porcelain baskets as well as unique items such as fireplace tools and a firewood stand. She has recently added some beautiful wood furniture. Kat likes to put
throw pillows on her living room furniture and offers a stunning Soutwestern theme collection.
16 Jan 03: Mail Order Sims appears to now be hosted at The Cloth Menagerie, after having bounced around to their own domain and then to wretched.tzo.net.

or $39.99 for a whole year. You must subscribe to MOTS to browse the stuff.

Mama Sims
|
Formerly simSelections. It says here: "Simple Yet Elegant, Sims Vault, and Kat's Interior
Simsations have joined with Mamma Sims." It looks like the site is just getting organized. Navigation is
tediously slow.
Hosted on Everglide. Mamma's Shoppe offers a catalog of some interesting computing accessories for purchase.
Caddy says, "Pages take a long time to load because every page makes another call to the topsites
counter at The Sims Resource."
Entry updated 9 Sep 01.

Malificent and Mikey have some really nifty furnishings at M & M Needful Things. Emphasis is on sundry shades of purple, which fits quite well with the site's mostly-adult themes. In the adults section you will find a series of erotic furniture with custom animations. Go to their Yahoo groups to get the animations; it's linked from the site. Site opened September 16, 2003.
Warning: Adult content.

Marina's Sims

Has a truly unique gothic arch and coordinating gothic columns, and several stone tile floors. The links
to Houses and Walls don't seem to be working, but the rest of the site works.
Pasiphae says, "Yes! Lots of stone tile floors, and every one of them is Livin' Luna! Now
she has added an outdoor chapel with a dome and stone columns, alogn with stone benches, chairs, and a
table!"

Pasiphae says, "What? We missed your site? Our notes are out of date? Well then,
please write to us!
We are getting buried in spam, so we are giving up on posting an email address for updates to
the Moon Sims Links List. Instead of sending email to us, please let us know about new sites
by posting a note in the
Moon Sims Yahoo group.
"We won't add sites that are primarily oriented toward an adult audience or that overtly
promote the use of illegal drugs; and of course I reserve the right to exercise my own discretion
